About
Nick Hawley, home inspector in North Vancouver
Principal & Lead Inspector, Watch House Inspections.

I spent over twenty years building and repairing homes in British Columbia before I started inspecting them. I began in residential carpentry, went on to heritage restoration in the older houses of Vancouver and the North Shore, then moved into commercial construction. I’ve framed roofs, flashed windows, and opened up walls that looked fine from the outside but weren’t.
That’s the background I bring to an inspection. I know how a house is supposed to go together, and I notice when it doesn’t. I know what a repair involves, so I can tell you whether something is a weekend job or a real cost to consider.
I started Watch House to do inspections the way I’d want one done on a house I was buying: unhurried, specific, and written plainly. Watch House doesn’t do repairs and doesn’t pay or accept referral fees, so the only person the report answers to is you.
I live in North Vancouver with my wife, two kids and our dog. When I’m not on a roof, I’m usually on a golf course or at the rink.
