Port Moody and Coquitlam have a lot of 1990s townhouse complexes on slopes, plus newer towers near the SkyTrain stations. Many older complexes are replacing roofs, windows or piping; the strata documents show whether that is done, planned or deferred.
A typical finding here
Polybutylene supply piping at the water heater
Observation: Grey polybutylene water lines with crimp fittings are visible at the water heater and in the unfinished storage room. No active leaks were seen.
Implication: Poly-B has a history of failures at fittings as it ages, and some insurers ask about it or limit coverage.
Recommendation: Have a plumber evaluate the extent of the piping and quote replacement. Check with your insurer before subject removal.
