Home maintenance inspection
For owners, not buyers. A full inspection of the home you live in, so you know what needs doing before it turns into a repair.
Who it’s for
Owners who have been in a home for a few years and want a clear list of what needs attention: the roof, the drainage, the furnace and water heater, and the caulking and paint that keep water out. It’s also a good check a year or two after buying, to see what has changed since the purchase inspection.
What’s included
The same visual, non-invasive inspection as a pre-purchase inspection, carried out to the HIABC Scope of Inspection, with thermal imaging and moisture testing. The report sorts each item by when it needs attention, and routine maintenance items come with a diagram showing what to do and where.
How often
Every one to two years suits most homes. Older homes, homes with a suite and homes with a history of leaks benefit from a yearly visit.
A note on independence
We don’t do repairs and we don’t pay or accept referral fees. The report tells you what needs doing and what kind of trade to call. Who you hire is up to you.
